The Whale Resort is a 3.5 acre beachfront property with two homes, each home is privately secluded from the others, with trails and pathways full of colorful vegetation, connecting each home throughout the property.
The Whale Resort entrance is gated and secure. The resort includes two homes located on the property. Each home has its own pool and private deck area.
The Whale House
This is a three bedroom/three bath, and sleeps 6 – 8 comfortably with A/C. It has one king, one queen, and two singles in our bedrooms, along with an over-sized pull out futon sofa bed in the family room. This house is fully equipped with a large kitchen, a wet bar, and a large entertainment room for social gatherings, and two HD TV’s. It has its own private pool and deck area with large porch areas, and enough outdoor seating for 20 + people and a giant gas grill for a great pool party! It’s also oceanfront so everyone has a great view. It has its own gated entrance and enough parking for 5 cars.
The Garden House
This is a one bedroom/one bath with a King Sized Bed, along with two over-sized pull out futon sofa beds in the family room. It will sleep 6 comfortably with A/C. This house is fully equipped with a small kitchen and bar area with a HD TV. It has a large front porch area, and has its own private pool and deck area. It has its own gated entrance and enough parking for 2 cars.

Location
The whale resort is located in Cañaza on the Osa Peninsula, and backs up to the Golfo Dulce (Sweet Gulf) Bay. The water in the Gulf is always warm and calm. It is thus a very relaxing beach and always safe for swimming for the whole family.
Cañaza ist just a short drive away from Puerto Jimenez, the main town on the Osa Peninsula, with all amenities such as supermarkets, banks, pharmacies, medical clinics, and more.
Cañaza also has its own small grocery and liquor store about five minutes from the resort.

Power
All of the houses in the Matapalo area are eco-houses that use solar power. Solar power is a renewable energy and thus helps to reduce global warming. The house is powered with 110 Volts outlets (no adapter needed) Usually the light during the day is sufficient to light up the rooms, as the sun rises at 5 and goes down around 5:30pm-6:00pm. Since the house is not equipped with strong light bulbs or fluorescent lights, you’ll also need to use candles, lanterns, and flashlights. There are also showers with hot water, heated up through solar power.
Recommendations
We advice you to not bring coffee makers, radios, stereos, hairdryers, and other appliances. These appliances will drain a lot of the solar energy, leaving none for basic use. You may bring battery chargers for your video and still cameras. Remember to unplug appliances when finished charging. We recommend to turn off all lights, fans and other small appliances when not in direct use.
